Welcome to the Website
of United Voices for Children!
This web site is here to provide you with information that can help you become an effective "voice," able to speak on behalf of children and families throughout our state and nation, as well as those living within our communities.
The United Voices for Children (UVC) Web site has three major goals:
To encourage congregations to advocate for the children in their local communities through supportive ministries that assist families in the nurture of their children.
To promote the 5th Sunday Appeal that provides financial resources to the four United Methodist-related related child serving agencies in the
Northern Illinois Conference of The United Methodist Church. These organizations include
ChildServ,
Marcy-Newberry Association,
Methodist Youth Services and the
Rosecrance Health Network.
To provide you with information and links to other Web sites that can help United Methodist congregations, their child advocates, pastors and church leaders better understand the issues affecting children and their families.
While this Web site is developed to help United Methodist congregations, we believe the information will be useful and relevant to anyone interested in building ministries that support the positive growth and development of the children and youth in their communities.
This Web site is a work in progress. We welcome your feedback to
Judy Grote, (630) 668-3100, to provide us information and comments you feel relevant to the nurture of children and the support of families.
